Jo Badger Textiles is a small independent textile and craft business based at Elsecar Heritage Centre in South Yorkshire.

For over 20 years, I’ve been working with textiles and exploring the many ways fibres, yarns and fabric can be turned into something useful, beautiful and completely your own. Forgewoven brings all of those interests together under one name — from spinning and weaving to sewing, felting, knitting and handmade textiles.

A shop for makers

We stock a carefully chosen range of yarns, spinning fibres, fabrics, haberdashery, tools, books, kits and craft supplies, alongside handmade and vintage-inspired pieces.

I’m particularly passionate about helping people discover traditional textile skills and making them feel accessible, whether you're completely new to a craft or have been making for years.

You'll find everything from materials for your next project to things that might simply inspire you to try something different.

Learning and making

I offer tuition and support in areas including spinning, weaving, felting and other textile crafts, with workshops and activities designed to give people the opportunity to learn, experiment and enjoy the process.

There's something very satisfying about taking a simple fibre or piece of cloth and turning it into something that didn't exist before.
